Telltale ("we", "us", "our") operates telltale-ai.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding it.
What we collect
For free users (no account)
- Browser fingerprint (a hash of your browser configuration, used to enforce daily usage limits)
- IP address (used to enforce daily usage limits)
- A cookie storing your daily check count
- The text you submit for analysis (processed but not stored after analysis completes)
For Pro users (with account)
- Email address (for authentication)
- Authentication data via Supabase (we never see or store your password)
- Payment information via Stripe (we never see or store your card details)
- Subscription status
- The text you submit for analysis (processed but not stored after analysis completes)
How we use your information
- To provide the Telltale analysis service
- To enforce free tier usage limits
- To process payments and manage subscriptions
- To prevent abuse
- To respond to support requests

Cookies
We use the following cookies:
- Essential cookies — required for the service to function (authentication, usage tracking). These cannot be disabled.
- Advertising cookies — used by Google AdSense to serve relevant ads to free users. These are only set after you provide consent via our cookie banner.
Data retention
Text submitted for analysis is processed in memory and discarded after the response is returned. We do not retain submitted text. Usage tracking data (fingerprints, IPs) is automatically deleted after 2 days. Account data is retained for as long as your account is active and deleted on request or 30 days after account deletion.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or EU, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to processing of your data
- Request export of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (e.g. the ICO in the UK)
Children
Telltale is not intended for use by anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
